Mariner 74, Cape Coral 56: Mariner (18-3, 3-0 District 5A-11) rolled over the rival Seahawks (9-11, 2-1) for sole possession of first place in the district. Ida Baker is second at 3-1 and Cape is third in the six-team district.
Ida Baker 84, Bonita Springs 42: The Bulldogs (11-5) won their eighth game in a row, making short work of the Bull Sharks. Ida Baker roared out to a 36-4 lead and won going away. Kaiden Crossdale led all scorers with 20 points, Bryant Sperduti had 15, Ishmael Hajmoussa 12 and Kyle Wegelen 12. Bonita Springs (4-9) got 14 points from Amarion Watkins.
Private 8 Tournament
Community School of Naples 57, Bishop Verot 51: Marcos Tejera scored 24 points with 9 rebounds, and David Portu had 13 points and 10 boards in a losing effort for the Vikings (10-10).
Boys Soccer
Oasis 7, Gateway 0: The Sharks closed out the regular season with their fifth consecutive shutout victory. Kieran Fields led the attack with a hat trick, with Mitch Williamson scoring twice. Kevin Ortiz and Eugeno Tapia-Rodriguez had a goal each, and Mario Acosta and Lars Fahnemann each made an assist. Mason Ricker earned a shutout win in goal. Next up will be the District 3A-10 tournament.
South Fort Myers 3, North Fort Myers 1: The Red Knights will head into district tournament competition at 0-15-1.
Port Charlotte 4, Island Coast 0: The Gators carry a 6-8-1 record into the postseason.
