Friday

Football

North Fort Myers 9, Island Coast 3: The game was called in the third quarter amid lightning and rain. All the scoring came in the first half. Andrew Devine ran an interception back 65 yards for the Red Knights (3-3) in the first quarter. The teams swapped field goals in the second period, with Keon Anderson kicking one through for the Gators (0-5) and Brandon Bush doing the same for North.

East Lee County 14, Mariner 13: A missed extra point proved painful for Mariner as the Jaguars (2-4) stopped a fourth-quarter Tritons (1-5) drive. Shortly afterward, lightning stopped the game for good with a minute left on the clock. The game had already been delayed before the start, and again at halftime. Noah Tolbert ran for both Mariner touchdowns in the third quarter after East Lee took a 14-0 lead into intermission.

St. John Neumann 41, Oasis 0: The weather also shortened this contest, which was called in the third quarter. The Sharks fell to 1-5, while the Celtics moved to 4-2.

Thursday

Football

Fort Myers 22, Cape Coral 7: In a game postponed by stormy weather in September, the lone Seahawks score was set up by Tyler Williams’ interception return to the Green Wave 10. Volleyball

Cape Coral 3, Mariner 2: Trinity White and Hannah Slutz had 13 kills each as the Seahawks (14-6) rallied from a 2-1 deficit to nip the Tritons (5-9) 25-20, 19-25, 23-25, 25-19, 20-18.

North Fort Myers 3, South Fort Myers 1: North (14-6) dominated early to grab a 2-0 lead, then battled through a split of two hard-fought matches, 25-11, 25-14, 26-28, 26-24, against South (10-11).
