America’s Boating Club to host seminar on how to prepare your boat for a hurricane

By Staff | Apr 22, 2021

America’s Boating Club is partnering with Cape Coral Park and Recreation Department to present a seminar on preparing your boat for hurricane season. This seminar will be presented on May 19 from 6 -8 pm., at the Cape Coral Yacht Club, 5819 Driftwood Parkway, Cape Coral, as part of a new boaters’ education series of seminars.

Hurricanes and Boats is a seminar open to all boat owners in Lee County. This seminar presented by America’s Boating Club Cape Coral will cover the things you need to plan for to protect your boat before the start of hurricane season. Topics to be covered include a look at what items need to be on your list of things to think about, based on what type of boat you own, where you normally keep that boat and what equipment and supplies you need to have on hand when a hurricane strikes.

The seminar will address how to make sure you have the right insurance coverage and if you keep your boat at a marina how to make sure they have a plan to assist you.

Members of America’s Boating Club Cape Coral will be on hand to answer your questions after the seminar. Volunteers will be there to schedule a complimentary Vessel Safety Check to make sure your boat has all the required safety equipment on board.

America’s Boating Club Cape Coral has been an active part of the Cape Coral Community since 1964. Its building is located at 917 S.E. 47th Terrace and is home to classrooms where the club teaches a variety of boating classes including America’s Boating Course. Graduates of the class earn a State of Florida Boater’s Education I.D. Card.
