Baseball

Island Coast 12, Mariner 3: Aiden Cecil was 2-for-3 with a double, driving in three runs for the Gators (9-1). Eddie Boe Rodriguez and Kevin Rodriguez added two RBI each. Kevin Martinez pitched five innings for the win, with Jason Billings working two hitless innings to close out the game. Jeff Mackey, Anthony Pimentel and Sam Duvall drove in a run each for the Tritons (3-5).

North Fort Myers 13, Estero 3: Make it five wins in a row for the Red Knights (6-4), who combined 11 hits with 10 Estero errors to dominate the Wildcats. Winning pitcher Riley Reed allowed two hits and struck out 13 over six innings. Gary Kamphouse led the offense with a 3-for-5, three-RBI, three-run performance. Blake Busbee was 3-for-4 with two RBI and Aiden Denlinger also drove in two for North.

Evangelical Christian 7, Oasis 1 (5 innings): The start was delayed for an hour by late-arriving umpires, and the ballpark lights went out at 9:30 p.m. In between, the Sharks (4-5) were held to three hits and a run.

Cape Coral 11, Ida Baker 3:  Alex Kolaninski was 2-for-4 with a double, driving in three runs and scoring three to lead a 12-hit Seahawks (4-5) attack.  Wyatt Drury also doubled, went 2-for-4 and had three RBI. Orien Powell, Mike Ruse and Jonathan Kuzmich also drove in Cape runs.  Allen Guerrero struck out 12 in 6 2/3 innings. For Ida Baker (3-8), James Purcell drove in two runs, Steven Thompson was 3-for-4 and Joseph Napoli had an RBI.

Softball

Bishop Verot 6, Lemon Bay 3: Audrey Mills was 4-for-4 with two doubles, driving in two runs, to lead the Vikings (8-1, 1-0 District 3A-12) past the Manta Rays (2-8, 0-2). Victoria Ash (2-for-4) also had two RBI, Lauren Mills was 3-for-4 and Katelyn Mohs 2-for-3 with a triple. Ash went the distance on the mound, giving up three runs (one earned) and striking out 11.

Cape Coral 14, Ida Baker 3 (5 innings): Abby Garcia (2-for-4) drove in four runs, Camryn Maurer doubled and had three RBI to lead the Seahawks (3-6). Rachel Manes (3-for-4) scored twice and drove in a run, and Kirsten Lacombe (3-for-4) had two RBI. For the Bulldogs (7-2), Adriana Przespolewski was 2-for-3, and Makayla Nieves and Julianna Nieves had an RBI each.

North Fort Myers 10, Estero 3: The Red Knights (7-1) piled up 14 hits, led by Taylor Rosciti’s 3-for-4, two-RBI night. Madelyn Tejeda was 2-for-3 and drove in two runs, and Sydney Morris had three RBI. Alexis Morris was 2-for-3 and scored twice. Kendall Wylie was the winning pitcher, allowing three runs (only one earned) over four innings. Morris pitched three hitless innings. North has won seven in a row after dropping its opener.

Boys tennis

Mariner 4, South Fort Myers 3: Wolfpack forfeits helped the Tritons win Thursday, their final match until March 23.

Singles: Isiah Drakeford-King (S) d Karl Schott 6-0, 6-1; Danny Staller (S) d Gage Franklin 7-5, 6-4; Noah Squicciarini (M) by forfeit; Lucas Annarumma (M) by forfeit; Zach Braun (M) by forfeit. Doubles: Drakeford-King/Staller (S) d Squicciarini/Braun (M) 8-0; Franklin/Annarumma (M) by forfeit.      

Girls lacrosse

Cypress Lake 10, Bishop Verot 3: Cypress (4-1, 1-0 District 1A-11) dropped the Vikings to 3-4, 1-1.

Riverdale 11, Cape Coral 6: The Raiders (1-6) got revenge for a defeat at the hands of the Seahawks (1-5) last month.

Late Tuesday

Baseball

Cape Coral 5, Ida Baker 4: The Seahawks (2-5, 1-0 District 5A-11) held off a seventh-inning rally to edge the Bulldogs (3-7, 0-2). Alex Kolaninski gave up one earned run in 6 1/3 innings for the win, and Allen Guerrero finished up for a save. Three of Ida Baker’s four runs were unearned as each team committed six errors. Orien Powell had two hits and an RBI for Cape, and Andrew Friedl and Jeremy Luperon drove in a run each. For Ida Baker, Matt Moreno and Cayden Farmer each had an RBI. Bulldogs pitchers Jonah Miley and Cameron Agius combined to allow one earned run out of the five scored by the Seahawks.
