Island Coast baseball team shuts out Mariner, 10-0

Island Coast 10, Mariner 0 (6 innings): Kevin Rodriguez and Noah Petrovich combined on a four-hit shutout. Rodriguez struck out seven in five innings, and also drove in three Gators’ (8-1) runs. Emilio Gonzales (2-for-4) also had three RBI. Aiden Cecil added two RBI. Mariner fell to 3-4 with the loss.
North Fort Myers 7, Riverdale 0: The Red Knights won their fourth in a row, led by Logan Wilsker’s six innings of two-hit, scoreless pitching with 10 strikeouts. Justin Corbitt was 2-for-4 with two runs. Lardon Ford, Gary Kamphouse and Gavin Hause also had RBI for North Fort Myers.
Oasis 9, First Baptist Academy 2: Ryan Dewitt had three hits including a double and drove in four runs for the Sharks (4-4). Freshman pitcher Carson Monville (1-0) worked three shutout innings before FBA scored twice in the fourth. Alex Garay pitched three scoreless in relief. Frank Haba added two hits and scored twice for Oasis.
Softball
Lemon Bay 35, Mariner 24: Mariner’s Katie Campbell had a career night with 11 RBI on a two-grand slam, four-hit night with three runs scored. It was a wild game overall, with the teams combining for 45 hits and 21 errors. The Manta Rays scored 20 runs in the sixth and seventh innings to take the win. Marissa Sarantapoulas drove in four more for the Tritons (3-3). Madi Gervais also homered.
Ida Baker 14, Cape Coral 2 (5 innings): Dominique Parker went 2-for-3 and had three RBI for the Bulldogs (7-1). Julianna Nieves, Hannah McGlade and Makayla Nieves had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored each. Zoe DeJournett struck out seven in five innings. Phaedra Jelenowski had an RBI for the Seahawks (2-6).
North Fort Myers 13, Riverdale 8: A six-run fourth inning helped the Red Knights rally from an early deficit. Kendall Wylie (2-1) was not only the winning pitcher, but had three hits, scored three times and had two RBI. Kirsten Gnagey drove in two runs on two hits. Also for North, Taylor Roscitti had two hits and scored three times, and Sarah Hamilton had two hits and two runs scored. McKenzie Wittenberg homered for Riverdale.
Bishop Verot 3, Evangelical Christian 0: Victoria Ash (7-0) pitched a four-hit shutout, striking out 11 and not walking a batter. Sophia Miller doubled twice, drove in a run and scored a run for the Vikings (7-0). Audrey Mills doubled and had an RBI.
Gateway Charter 15, Oasis 14: The Gateway Charter Griffins (4-6) scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to edge the Sharks (5-4). Oasis scored in all seven innings of the contest.

Cardinal Mooney 18, Bishop Verot 1: The Vikings (3-3) lost their second match in as many days.
Cypress Lake 16, Cape Coral 8: The Seahawks (1-4, 0-2 District 1A-11) fell to Cypress Lake (3-1, 1-0)
