Mariner 86, Ida Baker 85: The Tritons (3-1, 1-0) survived when a last-second Bulldogs (1-2, 0-1) shot didn’t connect.
Bishop Verot 76, Evangelical Christian 55: Andreas Mantz led four Vikings (1-3) in double figures with 22 points, 9 assists and 5 steals. Carson Beisner scored 15 and Marcos Tejera and Ethan Tipton had 11 each. Jonah Schwartz had 7 rebounds.

Ida Baker 42, Mariner 33: Kynlee Price had 17 points and 8 rebounds as the Bulldogs (2-3, 2-1 District 5A-11) defeated Mariner (0-6, 0-1). Priscilla Maldonado had 12 points and 6 assists, and Nicole Bono contributed 9 points and 7 rebounds.

Cape Coral 67, Lely 53: Trailing the Trojans by 9 at the end of the third quarter, the Seahawks (6-1) completely dominated down the stretch for the victory. Sierra Moore had a huge game with 34 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists. Kylah Baberitch scored 12 points, and Yarily Pacheco had 15 rebounds to go with 6 points.
Gateway Charter 51, Island Coast 34: The Griffins roared out to a 20-6 lead after one quarter, and the Gators (0-4) could not mount a comeback. Gateway Charter seventh-grader Katelyn Rosario scored 25 points.

Desoto County 50, Oasis 49: The Sharks came up just short in their bid for their first win of the season (0-3). The home team Bulldogs evened their mark at 1-1.
Ida Baker 72, Island Coast 62: Boe Summersett led the Bulldogs (1-1, 1-0 District 5A-11) in scoring with 16 points, while Chris Roman added 14. Tyger Chandler and Mason Gonzales had 13 points each. For Island Coast (1-1, 0-1), Alex Padilla led all scorers with 17 points and Naijhae Cook had 16. Cook hit four 3-pointers.
Estero 68, Cape Coral 48: It was a tough season opener for the Seahawks, while Estero won for the first time (1-3). Cape Coral is home against North Fort Myers on Friday.

Mariner 1, Fort Myers 0: Nacho Velardez scored the match’s only goal as the Tritons (5-0) handed Fort Myers (3-1-1) its first defeat of the season.
