Cape Coral High School has announced the appointment of Barry Bowman as the new head varsity football coach. Bowman brings over 30 years of coaching experience and a strong track record of success. He compiled a 107-41 record as a head coach in Texas which includes a 26-6 playoff record and three state championships.

Bowman has earned 17 different Coach of the Year awards as a result of this success and was recently named to the Top 10 All-Time Coaches in East Texas by the Texas High School Coaches Association.

“Coach Bowman is a great addition to the Seahawk family!” said Cape Coral High Principal Christian Englehart.

Prior to becoming a highly successful coach, Coach Bowman played Division 1 football at Louisiana Tech University and then went on to play for the Rams and Seahawks in the National Football League.

He served as the defensive coordinator for Cape Coral High School this past season and led a unit that allowed just 206 yards per game.
