Barron Collier 61, Bishop Verot 53: The Vikings came up short in their season opener, falling in the first round of the Bokamper’s Shootout in Naples.  Bishop Verot faces Naples on Friday in the tournament.

Community School of Naples 76, Mariner 70: A 25-9 fourth quarter rallied CSN past the Tritons in the Bokamper’s Shootout.  Mariner led 61-51 through three periods.  The 0-1 Tritons face Barron Collier on Friday.

Lemon Bay 81, Oasis 60: The Sharks (0-2) face Port Charlotte on Tuesday.

Girls basketball

Golden Gate 56, Bishop Verot 32: The first round of the Bokamper’s Turkey Shoot was unkind to the Vikings (0-3).  Verot takes on Estero on Friday in the tournament.

Naples 57, Mariner 29: The Golden Eagles (2-1) downed the Tritons (0-3) in the first round of the Bokamper’s Turkey Shoot.  Naples faces Dunbar in the tournament on Friday, while Mariner is home against Lely on Tuesday.

Island Coast 81, LaBelle 62: The Gators opened the new season with a convincing win on the road. Cole Koch scored 22 points for Island Coast, Alex Padilla scored 21 and Cameron Ball and Nai’jah Cook added 10 points each. LaBelle’s Jason Branch led all scorers with 24 points. Next up for Island Coast is another road game at North Port Imagine School on Tuesday, Dec.1.
