Boys soccer

Cape Coral 6, Cypress Lake 0: Diego Alvarez had half of Cape Coral’s scoring total with a hat trick. The Seahawks (4-1 overall) jumped out to a 2-0 start in District 5A-11 with a road shutout of Cypress Lake (1-1, 0-1).  Adriel Gomez, Lucas Cunha and Joel Garcia had goals for the Seahawks, and Austin Ferguson had two assists. Cape Coral is home Monday to face Riverdale.

Island Coast 2, East Lee County 2: The road draw gives the Gators a 1-1-2 mark. 

 

Girls soccer

Mariner 9, LaBelle 2: Cameron Fallacara and Brooke Yount had a hat trick each, while Annabelle Barbot, Eva Ramirez and Ariana Wilson scored as well.  Ryleigh Acosta made two assists, and Maria Parker and Ari McIntyre had one assist each.  Friday’s match is canceled, so the Tritons (3-0) return to competition on Monday at home against North Port.

Cypress Lake 3, Ida Baker 2: With the defeat, Ida Baker is 2-2, 0-1 in District 5A-11.  The Bulldogs’ next match is Tuesday at Canterbury.

Girls basketball

Ida Baker 62, Island Coast 35: The Bulldogs won their District 5A-11 opener to even their record at 1-1 overall.  Island Coast slid to 0-2, 0-1. For Ida Baker, Kynlee Price had 17 points and 7 rebounds, Makayla Nieves posted a double-double of 14 points and 10 boards, and Priscilla Maldonado scored 11 points and had 6 rebounds.

Lemon Bay 41, Oasis 27: Oasis lost its second in a row to open the new season.

Gulf Coast 95, Mariner 26: The Tritons fell to 0-2.

Golden Gate 54, Bishop Verot 21: The Vikings (0-2) are scheduled to face Golden Gate again Wednesday afternoon.
