North Fort Myers 25, South Fort Myers 7: After spotting South Fort Myers (3-3) seven points, the Red Knights remained undefeated (6-0) by scoring the last 25. Tavin Ward ran for TDs of 5 and 17 yards. Brett Reed kicked field goals of 27 and 36 yards, and also ran 11 yards for a touchdown.

Ida Baker 43, East Lee County 0: The Bulldogs (4-2) did all the scoring in the first half, with a running clock for the final two periods. Eric Swanson passed 30 yards to Keindler Petit for a touchdown and ran 36 for another. Levontani Summersett rushed for a 20-yard score, Kaleb Staple ran 36 yards for a TD and Angel Alverio added a 1-yard touchdown. Luke Sather hit Jaden Jones for an 80-yard TD just before halftime.  he Ida Baker defense put up the first score of the night, a safety just 17 seconds after kickoff.

Bishop Verot 34, Orlando Bishop Moore 33: The Vikings (5-3) pulled off a stunner in Orlando when Jacob Azizi hit Malik Curtis for a 35-yard score with 48 seconds remaining. It was the third time Friday that the two hooked up on a touchdown pass. Earlier, Curtis scored on Azizi passes of 15 and 35 yards. Azizi and Chris Graves also teamed up for a 76-yard scoring pass. Deaglan Camron made field goals of 29 and 25 yards, and his fourth extra point of the night was the game-winner.  Blake Jozsa’s interception with five seconds to play sealed the win for the Vikings.  Bishop Moore entered Friday’s game 4-1, ranked ninth in the state in Class 5A.

Ocoee Legacy Charter 42, Oasis 20: Toby Kellner figured in all three Oasis (1-6) touchdowns. He passed 45 yards to Kai Shelton, ran for 13 yards and a TD and caught a pass from Kaiden Stengel for a 50-yard score. Kellner entered the night as Florida’s all-classification leader in total offense this season

Island Coast 24, Bonita Springs 12: The Gators (4-2) grabbed a 12-6 lead after one quarter, and were up 24-6 until the game’s last 3:35. Gabe Fisher connected with Mike Jones on a 74-yard touchdown pass, and also ran for a 5-yard score.  Jason Joseph and Jacob Hardin teamed up on a 55-yard TD.  Dylan Ratliff scored in the third quarter from 8 yards out.  The Joseph-to-Hardin pass came 14 seconds after Ethan Saure’s 1-yard run got the Bull Sharks (2-4) on the board.  Mason Keenum had an 8-yard run for Bonita Springs with 3:35 left in the contest.

District 3A-9 meet: North Fort Myers finished fourth and Ida Baker seventh in the district competition, which was won by Barron Collier.  A total of 11 schools competed.  Island Coast did not post a team score. 

Boys swimming

District 3A-9 meet: Kirk Klemm of North Fort Myers won the 50 freestyle, leading the Red Knights to a third-place finish in the district championships. Island Coast was seventh as a team. There was no team score for Ida Baker’s boys.
