Alvarez scores two goals to help lead Seahawks past Lightning
Diego Alvarez scored twice to lead the Cape High Seahawks (10-1-2) past the Lehigh Lightning, 4-0, Monday evening.
Jacob Jiminez and Lucas Rosales also had goals for Cape Coral.
Dylan Linares and Joey Zakrewski combined in goal for the shutout.
Cape Coral is off until Jan. 2, when the Seahawks face Valrico Bloomingdale in the Tampa Bay Invitational.

Mariner 11, Evangelical Christian 1: The Tritons raised their record to 10-0-1 behind four Leo Perez goals. Esteban Orjuela and Mathias Ariass scored two goals each, while Jason Arias, Eddie Reyes and Robert Aguirre also had goals. Mariner plays Thursday at Canterbury.
Bonita Springs 2, Island Coast 1: Bonita Springs improved to 3-7 while dropping the Gators to 1-9-2. The next match for Island Coast will be Jan. 9 at East Lee County.
Lemon Bay 6, Oasis 1: The Sharks had the halftime lead, but the second half was all Manta Rays. Oasis (1-7) is home Thursday against Gateway Charter.

Ida Baker 74, South Fort Myers 70: Andrew Wells led the Bulldogs with nine points during a rally that saw Ida Baker overcome an eight-point Wolfpack lead. Devyn Bradwell scored 18 points to lead Baker, while Joe Cecil scored 13 points and AJ Saso added 10. Cade Daugherty scored 23 points, Fabian Thompson 14 and Jael Rodriquez 11 for South. The Bulldogs are home Tuesday against North Fort Myers.
Cape Coral 72, Island Coast 50: K’dyn Waters led the Seahawks (2-4, 1-1 District 5A-11) with 16 points, with Jamie O’Connor and Ryan Acuff scoring 13 each in the win against the Gators (1-6, 1-1). Island Coast is home Thursday against Cypress Lake. Cape’s next scheduled game is Jan. 2 at home against Oasis.
Mariner 76, East Lee County 50: D’sean Achilles led a balanced Tritons (5-2) attack with 12 points. Luis Ferro, Adam Bosco and Amari Martin had 11 each. Mariner was at home Tuesday to face Cypress Lake.
Golden Gate 72, Oasis 65: The Sharks (0-6) were the victims of Golden Gate’s first win (1-6). Oasis will be home Dec. 27 against Community Christian.

Evangelical Christian 1, Mariner 0: The Sentinels of ECS (7-1-1) slipped past the Tritons (6-4). Mariner is at Canterbury on Thursday.

Ida Baker 3, Island Coast 3 (tie): Friday’s District 5A-11 draw leaves the Bulldogs at 2-11-2, 0-0-2 in the district, and the Gators 1-8-2, 0-2-1.
Charlotte 3, North Fort Myers 1: The Tarpons (6-1-4) broke open what had been a 1-all game at halftime. The Red Knights fell to 1-11.

Cape Coral 3, Mariner 1: It’s been a tough season for the Seahawks (2-7), but Friday’s win gave Cape two victories in its last three matches. The upset lowered Mariner’s record to 6-4. Mariner, which has dropped two in a row, plays at Evangelical Christian on Monday, while Cape Coral is home against Lehigh.

Mariner 77, East Lee County 16: The Tritons led 63-6 at halftime, scoring the game’s first 23 points. Mariner (8-2) had balanced scoring, led by Alexis Poposki with 15 points including four 3-pointers. Alana Lozada scored 11 points and Naomi Darrett had 10. The Tritons have a road District 5A-11 game Tuesday against Cypress Lake.

Ida Baker 83, LaBelle 63: David Aguirre had a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs. Devyn Bradwell added 16 points and Bryce Donnelly scored 12. The Cowboys were led by Noah Garza, who had a game-high 26 points. Up next for the Bulldogs was a home contest Monday with South Fort Myers.
