Boys soccer
Mariner 4, Estero 2: TJ McKay scored three goals and Alex Franco added a tally for the Tritons (2-0). Robert Quintanilla played in goal in the first half for the Tritons, allowing a goal and making three saves. Anthony Rodriguez was the Mariner goalie in the second half, making two saves and letting in one goal. Martin Avilez and John Franco led the Mariner defense. The Tritons are home Thursday evening against South Fort Myers.
Charlotte 4, North Fort Myers 1: Michael Johnson scored for the Red Knights. North (0-2) plays at Barron Collier on Thursday.
Cape Coral 4, Port Charlotte 1: The Seahawks jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and went on from there to defeat the Pirates. Juan Parra and Jose Parra scored those early goals as Cape started the year with a win. Mateo Castano and Jacob Jiminez found the back of the net in the second half. Nate Ruth scored for Port Charlotte. Cape Coral is home against Lemon Bay on Thursday.
Mariner 8, Island Coast 0: Sophomore Eddie Reyes had a hat trick (three goals) and senior DJ McKay had two goals and two assists as the Tritons rolled in their season opener. Mariner also got goals from Angel Reyes, Jason Arias and John Franco. Anthony Rodriguez had the shutout in goal with three saves. Mariner plays at Estero on Wednesday and is home against South Fort Myers on Thursday.
Oasis 1, Bishop Verot 0: Tuesday night’s victory was the Sharks’ (1-0-0) first win against Bishop Verot since the schools began playing boys soccer. Oasis is home against LaBelle on Thursday, while Verot (0-1-1) doesn’t play again until Nov. 20 at home against Naples.
Lemon Bay 5, North Fort Myers 2: Michael Johnson scored twice for the Red Knights, but Blake Dean netted four goals for the Manta Rays. North Fort Myers (0-1) is home against Charlotte on Wednesday and at Barron Collier on Thursday.
Bishop Verot 2, Palmetto Ridge 2: Bishop Verot tied Palmetto Ridge, 2-2, Monday in the Vikings’ season opener at home. John Oliva scored a header off a Marc Cyr free kick to tie the game at 1. Then Kevin Reynolds scored to take the lead until Palmetto Ridge tied the game in the final minutes.

Mariner 8, Island Coast 0: Senior Acelya Aydogmus posted her third consecutive shutout in goal and junior Taylor Yount had a hat trick and an assist to propel Mariner (2-1-1) to the victory. Aryana Sanchez, Casidee Rentsch, Maria Parker, Victoria Annarumma and Michele Vidal scored goals for the Tritons. Mariner plays at South Fort Myers on Thursday.
Cape Coral 1, Port Charlotte 0: Jackie Kohlmeier scored for the Seahawks on an assist by Sarah Magin. Blair Dupui had 14 saves as Cape improved to 2-0-1. The Seahawks play at Lemon Bay on Thursday.
Bishop Verot 2, Oasis 1: The Vikings (5-1) improved to 4-1 on the season as Nina Gulati and Lesley Saldana scored goals and Meagan Brown had an assist. Oasis (2-1), which suffered its first defeat, is home Thursday against LaBelle. Bishop Verot next takes on Barron Collier at home Thursday.
Ida Baker 0, Mariner 0: Bulldogs goalie Adriana Mateo had 13 saves as Ida Baker (1-0-1) and Mariner (0-2-1) played to a draw in District 3A-13. Aceyla Aydogmus had her first shutout of the season in goal for the Tritons.
Ida Baker 1, Gulf Coast 1: The Bulldogs are 1-0-2 after playing to a draw on the road. It was the second consecutive tie for Ida Baker, which plays at home Thursday against Fort Myers.
Oasis 8, Island Coast 0: The Sharks improved to 2-0 with their second consecutive shutout victory. No details available.
Mariner 6, Lely 0: Junior Taylor Yount had a hat trick (three goals) to lead the Tritons (1-1-1). Victoria Annarumma, Arinna Quintanilla and Symantha Campos also had goals for Mariner. Senior goalkeeper Aceyla Aydogmus posted her second shutout in a row, and had an assist on one of the Mariner goals. The Tritons play at Island Coast at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
