The Fort Myers Miracle closed out the Florida State League’s first-half season on a winning note Wednesday night, beating the Charlotte 3-2 in 10 innings at Hammond Stadium.

The win is the third in a row over the Stone Crabs as the Miracle (34-35) finish third in the South Division standings, 4 1/2 games behind the division champion Bradenton Marauders (38-30). Tampa won the North division title.

Bradenton topped the Jupiter Hammerheads 1-0 Wednesday night to claim the team’s first division title by 2 1/2 games over second place St. Lucie. The Marauders’ goal for the season is to win a league championship and the division title clinches a berth in the postseason playoffs.

Pirates No. 19 prospect Stephen Tarpley allowed three hits and two walks while fanning seven over six innings Wednesday.
