Cape rallies past Fort Myers 9-7
Brandon Dye and Tre Waltz scored on an errant throw to first base in the top of the seventh inning Monday night as Cape Coral came from behind to beat Fort Myers 9-7.
Cape scored multiple runs in the first and fourth innings and trailed 7-6 entering the seventh inning. After tying the game, Brandon Dye and Tre Waltz scored the game-winning runs on a bunt attempt that turned into an error when a throw to first base sailed into right field.
Dye and Waltz each drove in a run on one hit earlier in the game. Spencer Roach accounted for two RBI, both on sac-flies.
Andrew Geml (1-0) earned the win with two innings or relief.
The Seahawks (11-5) host Cypress Lake on Tuesday.
