Gymnasts to compete at Harborside Center
Lee County is hosting the USA Gymnastics Florida Level 4 and 5 State Championships this weekend at Harborside Event Center.
The meet runs Dec. 4-6 and is sponsored by Lightning City Gymnastics & Cheerleading and will bring approximately 600 gymnasts from around the state to compete in Fort Myers.
Approximately 1,900 people, including gymnasts and their families, are expected to attend, resulting in 800 hotel room nights and an estimated direct economic impact of $270,000 for the county.
The first competition begins at 6 p.m. on Friday; at 8:30 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 2:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday. The competition concludes Sunday with sessions beginning at 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. The meet is open to the public with admission at $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 5-12 (cash only).
