Bulldogs, Tritons settle for 1-1 tie
Sophia Restrepo scored midway through the second half Wednesday night to earn Mariner a 1-1 tie with crosstown rival Ida Baker in girls’ soccer.
Her sister, Alexis Restrepo, tended goal for the Tritons and was credited with 10 saves to preserve the tie.
“Alexis kept us in the game,” said Tritons coach Jefferson Swift.
Baker took a 1-0 lead early in the second half when Haley Rounsifer scored off an assist from April Sanchez. Keeper Ashley Revis made seven saves for the Bulldogs (1-1-1), who host Cypress Lake on Thursday.
“It was a very good game,” said Bulldogs coach Chris Vainest.
The Tritons (2-0-2) host Cape Coral on Thursday.
