BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston Red Sox released their 2016 Spring Training season that begins on Feb. 18 at JetBlue Park with the pitchers and catchers slated to report to camp.

Position players are to report on Feb. 23 with the first full squad workout on Feb. 24. Workouts are free and open to the public.

Tickets for the team’s 17 Grapefruit League home games go on sale on Dec. 5, and will be the same price as 2015.

Fans can purchase Spring Training tickets starting at 10 a.m. at JetBlue Park and at redsox.com. Fans needing ADA accessible seating or those who may not have a computer may call 877-REDSOX9. Hearing impaired fans may call the Red Sox TTY line at (617) 226-6644. MasterCard is the preferred card provider of the Boston Red Sox.

The Sox open their exhibition season on Feb. 29 with a single admission doubleheader against the Boston College Eagles and the Northeastern University Huskies starting at 1:05 p.m.

The Grapefruit League schedule launches at JetBlue Park on March 2 against the Minnesota Twins. The home opener is the first of seven games between the spring crosstown foes.

Highlighting the rest of the schedule, the Red Sox visit the New York Yankees on March 5, in Tampa, and then host them March 15, at 6:05 p.m., one of only two night games on the home schedule.

The schedule includes games against every other division rival, too. Two of those take place in Montreal as part of a two-game exhibition series with the Blue Jays at Olympic Stadium on April 1-2.

The Red Sox equipment truck departs from Fenway Park on Feb. 10.

The 2016 season is the fifth for the Red Sox at JetBlue Park.
