Twins set spring slate
MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Twins announced the complete 2016 schedule for the Spring Training Grapefruit League on Wednesday.
Twins pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report on Sunday, Feb. 21, with their first workout on Monday, Feb. 22. The balance of the squad reports on Friday, Feb. 26, with full-squad workouts beginning on Saturday, Feb. 27.
The Twins’ schedule (posted online) features 33 games (15 home, 18 road) starting with a road game against the Boston Red Sox on March 2. The Twins then return to the Hammond Stadium to face the Red Sox in their Spring Training home opener on March 3. The Twins end their Grapefruit League schedule with two exhibition games against the Nationals Park in Washington D.C.
Additional highlights of the Twins’ home schedule includes three more games with the Red Sox, a visit by the N.L. Central Champion St. Louis Cardinals, a game with the New York Yankees, and two games against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
