Green Wave claim LCAC golf title

Fort Myers and Estero fought over the team title Monday in the boys’ LCAC Tournament at Magnolia Landing. Estero’s Luke Farmer won the individual title, but Landon Weber’s third-place finish helped the Green Wave secure the team title.

Weber shot 3-over-par 75 to lead the Green Wave to a team winning total of 326. His was one of just four scores in the 70s.

Farmer shot 2-under 70 to lead the Wildcats to a 349 team total for second place. River dale claimed third at 357 and Ida Baker placed fourth with 360.

Jonah Manning of South Fort Myers shot even par 72 for second place individually.

“We were only 11 shots out of second place,” said Baker coach Scott Conforte. “We are not playing up to our potential. We can shoot 326 on a good day, but we didn’t grind it out. I would have loved to push closer to second place today.”

Alec DiLallo led the Bulldogs with an 81 with T.J. Clapp carding 86. Adrian Strey and Ben Hunt contributed to the cause with rounds of 95 and 98, respectively.

“We beat all the teams in our district today,” said Conforte. “We’ve been flat all season, but we have a match Thursday with Mariner and Oasis at Palmetto Pine to get ready for the district tournament.”
