Bay scallop season closes
The final day for harvesting of recreational bay scallops was Thursday. The 2015 season is now closed.
Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) scallop researchers will conduct underwater surveys after the season to reassess the scallop population.
Scallop harvesters can assist researchers by completing an online survey indicating where they harvest scallops, how many they collect and how long it takes to harvest them. Participants can email BayScallops@MyFWC.com to ask questions or send additional information.
