Gross leads Tritons victory 3-1

Amanda Gross delivered 20 kills to go with nine digs Thursday night, but Ida Baker still lost to Cape Coral at home 25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 26-24.

Alicia Marzullo contributed nine kills and four digs for the Bulldogs (5-6), who visit South Fort Myers on Monday.

Bishop Verot 3, Canterbury 0: Taya Leonard’s 19 assists and 10 kills led Bishop Verot past Canterbury in a straight-set victory 25-20, 25-19, 25-17 Thursday night at Canterbury.

Kelli Gerlach handed out 17 assists for the Vikings while Mindie Mabry was credited with 15 kills and Alyssa Collins 13 digs. The Vikings (7-0) travel to Fort Lauderdale for a two-day tournament at Chaminade-Madonna Prep starting Friday.

Mariner 3, Cypress Lake 1: Junior Abby Love served up seven aces to go with two kills and an assist to help lead Mariner past Cypress Lake Thursday night 25-14, 22-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Junior Natalie Christie contributed six digs and three service aces with Alivia Olsen showing great hustle setting the ball for the Tritons, who host Immokalee next Thursday.

At Lehigh Bowland: Cape Coral split a match with Lehigh on Thursday with the girls winning 4-1 and the boys falling 4-1.
