Baker claims 6th straight North of the River title

Ida Baker has owned the North of the River Tournament, winning the title for the sixth straight year Friday at Coral Oaks Golf Course. The tournament is just eight years old.

Baker’s Alec DiLallo toured the course in 75 strokes, 3-over-par, to claim the individual championship. He and his teammates turned in scores just 11 strokes apart, finishing the 18 holes in a combined 328 strokes.

Cape Coral took second place with 408 wile Island Coast and Mariner tied for third with 442. North Fort Myers rounded out the field with 482.

“It was a good score for us,” said Bulldogs coach Scott Conforte. “We play the same course next (Friday) with our Bulldogs Invitational. I’m happy with our numbers today.”

Joseph Edwards and Corey Williamson led Cape with matching scores of 96. Hank Owens topped Island Coast at 87 with Joey Sagi carding 86 to lead Mariner.
