Coral Oaks to host Patriot Golf Day event
Coral Oaks Golf Course and The RE/MAX Realty Team have partnered to host a Patriot Golf Day Tournament on Sept. 5.
Coral Oaks has participated in this PGA of America and U.S.G.A. campaign for eight consecutive years.
Tournament proceeds will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation that provides postsecondary educational scholarships for the children and spouses of military men and women disabled or killed while serving our nation, and the Southwest Florida Veterans Foundation, whose primary mission is to assist military Veterans with counseling and job placement throughout America.
The scramble format event tees off with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and is open to golfers of all skill levels. The entry fee is $50 per player.
Sponsors are hoping for a full field of 128 players and hopes to raise $10,000 or more for the two foundations. Since 2007, $12.5 million dollars in scholarships have been awarded to 10,000 students in 50 states and 41 PGA sections.
The Folds of Honor Foundation provides 87 cents of every dollar raised back to program costs.
“For all the sacrifices that our veterans have made and our active military personnel make while protecting the freedoms we enjoy on a daily basis, it is our honor to participate in the Patriot Golf Day campaign,” said Coral Oaks golf director Allen Manguson.
