Tritons shut out Green Wave 5-0
Mariner outhit Fort Myers 10-7 Thursday night and Tim Watters earned the win with five scoreless innings to help the Tritons pull off a 5-0 victory.
Watters (4-2) also contributed two hits with one RBI. Steven Grigiski drove in two runs with a pair of hits, including a double, and Nick Gallant also added two hits. The Tritons sealed the win with four runs in the fifth inning.
The Tritons (9-6) travel to Estero on Friday.
Oasis 15, Lehigh 1: Austin Brock (2-0) scattered seven hits and struck out two to enable Oasis to pound Lehigh Thursday night.
Keaton Bailey led the Sharks with three base hits and one RBI. Xavier Bravo also drove in a run with two hits and Nick Oliveira doubled in a run. Kevin Newton contributed two hits as well.
Five runs in the fourth inning gave the Sharks some breathing room and a six-run rally in the sixth ended it on the mercy rule.
The Sharks (10-5) play at Oasis on Monday.
Softball
Cape Coral 15, Dunbar 0: Carly Vilardi picked up a three-inning no-hit victory Thursday night as Cape Coral crushed Dunbar. Vilardi (2-0) struck out four batters.
Makenzie Buss and Dru Ricci each delivered three base hits while three others collected two hits. Buss was a singly shy of the cycle with two RBI and Ricci doubled, drove in three and scored three times.
Cheyenne Krolczyk drove in two runs and scored twice with a pair of hits, including a double. Ashley Wagner scored twice with two hits and Sara Brilhart drove in three runs and scored two with two hits, including a double.
The offensive display accounted for 10 runs in the first inning to start the rout. The Seahawks (13-4) host East Lee County on Friday.
Fort Myers 10, Mariner 0: Fort Myers plated four runs in the sixth inning to halt its victory over Mariner on the mercy rule Thursday.
Amber Likus had the only base hit for Mariner, a bunt single. Kaylyn Friday (3-6) was tagged with the loss. The Tritons (4-12) play at Estero on Friday.
