North halts Ida Baker’s fast start
Ida Baker’s history-making start to the baseball season came to a screeching halt Tuesday night as North Fort Myers handed the Bulldogs their first defeat 2-1 at Baker.
North’s Tyler Russo handcuffed the Bulldogs on one hit through six innings while allowing one run and striking out seven. North beat Chris Schrod (3-1), who struck out six and allowed one earned run on six hits through five innings.
Luke Endsley had the Bulldogs’ lone base hit. Both teams scored one run in the first inning, Baker’s coming on a passed ball. North scored the game-winning run in the third inning on a two-out RBI double by Joe Logsdon.
