North Fort Myers finished off its regular season slate Thursday night with an 8-0 rout of Cypress Lake that nailed down the Red Knights’ undefeated season against LCAC competition (12-0) and District 3A-13 play (7-0).

The Knights (19-1-1 overall) earned the district’s top seeding for the tournament that begins on Tuesday at Ida Baker. The Knights open tournament play at 5 p.m. against East Lee County.

In other District 3A-13 tournament openers, No. 2 seed Mariner takes on No. 7 Island Coast at 1 p.m. followed by No. 5 Cape Coral against South Fort Myers at 3 p.m. No. 3 seed and host Ida Baker meets Lemon Bay after North’s game at 7 p.m.

Goalkeeper Jacquie Scrivanich only had to make one save to preserve the shutout.

Mariner 4, Fort Myers 0: Erick Rivera and Trevor Jurkowski tallied two goals apiece to lead Mariner’s victory at Fort Myers Thursday night.

“There weren’t many scoring opportunities for either side before Erick scored the first goal,” said Tritons coach Martin Cardenas. “That first goal gave us a spark and we got more relaxed.”

Rivera’s goal game-winner came on a one-touch shot from just outside the 18-yard box. Rivera and Austen Hopson each had an assist and goalkeeper Jake Milos had two saves to post the victory.

“I don’t remember the last time we beat Fort Myers by that much,” added Cardenas.

North Port 3, Bishop Verot 0: Despite nine saves by goalkeeper Michael Hafele, Bishop Verot absorbed a shutout defeat at North Port Thursday night. The Vikings dip to 12-3-1 on the season heading into their next game Friday against Lake Placid at Vikings Stadium.

Island Coast 48, Oasis 41: Oasis got plenty of points from Jordan Westendorf Thursday night, but it was not enough to overcome a double-digit early deficit against Island Coast.

Westendorf finished with 23 points. Samantha Wood added eight points and five assists. The loss dropped the Sharks to 10-9 on the season.

Choral Washington led the Gators with 18 points with Leanne Ellis contributing 14.

“We cut the lead to three points last in the game, but we just could not do it,” said Sharks coach Sam Wood. “This was a good game for us as we get ready for districts. It was our first game back from the break and I think it showed some.”

The Sharks play at Gateway Charter next Thursday.
