Baker takes down Collier 4-1
Ida Baker posted its first win of the new soccer season Wednesday night with a big 4-1 victory at Barron Collier.
Gabi Morales led the Bulldogs with two goals between single goals by Marcella Montoya and April Sanchez. The Bulldogs opened a 3-0 lead by halftime and goalkeeper Aceyla Adogmus preserved the win with a pair of saves.
The Bulldogs (1-0-1) host Riverdale Thursday night.
Gateway 2, Island Coast 0: Gateway broke the scoreless tie with one goal midway through the second half and added an insurance score in the last five minutes Wednesday night to blank Island Coast.
Gators goalkeeper Sharon Churlin made eight saves in the losing effort. The Gators (0-1-1) host Southwest Florida Christian Monday night.
