Bulldogs take VB finale
Ida Baker heads into district play next week on a positive note after downing Cypress Lake in straight sets Thursday night.
Kristina Kayatta led the Bulldogs (13-8) to a 25-6, 25-21, 25-12 win with 11 kills, three service aces, a pair of assists and four digs.
Amanda Gross added nine ills, eight assists, two aces and three digs. Ashley Vargas contributed seven kills, four blocks and six digs.
The Bulldogs host Island Coast at 7 p.m. Monday night in the first round of the District 6A-12 Tournament.
North Fort Myers 3, Mariner 0: North Fort Myers wrapped up the regular season schedule Thursday night with a 25-13, 25-11, 25-10 straight-set victory over Mariner.
Jasmine O’Neil delivered five kills and served up eight points for the Tritons while Madi McClellan added seven digs and 11 service points.
The Tritons play at Golden Gate Monday night in the District 5A-12 Tournament.
Bowling
At Coral Lanes: Cape Coral earned a split against South Fort Myers Thursday, taking the boys’ match 5-0 while dropping the girls’ match 4-1.
Mia Raymond’s high-game of 186 led Cape to a total pinfall of 641 in a losing effort.
Nicholas Kawa rolled a high game of 215 to lead the boys’ team to a pinfall of 893.
The girls slip to 7-4 on the season while the boys improve to 10-1 heading into their next match against Mariner next week.
Swimming
Canterbury swept Oasis Thursday night, taking the girls’ meet 80-74 and the boys’ match 81-73.
