Titans add to Tritons’ woeful season

2 min read

Golden Gate knows how to pick a homecoming date.

Mariner went into Friday night’s game 0-6. The Tritons had been outscored 277-39. Make that 0-7 and 313-45 after the Titans dominated from start to finish in a 36-6 rout.

Friday marked the full-bore return of senior quarterback Jorquel Condomina, who had been slowed the past two games with a lower back injury. The Tritons could do little against him. While he didn’t get the official pregame crown, Condomina was king on this night.

Condimina was 8-for-14 for 263 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. He also ran five times for 31yards and a touchdown and wasn’t sacked.

Isaiah D’Haiti had 77 yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries. Brother Calerb D’Haiti added 78 yards.

Meanwhile, Mariner didn’t get a first down until 6:37 left in the first half after coach Travis Smith switched quaterbacks. Sophomore Cairo Jeunegens gave the Tritons a boost with three double-digit completions at that point, but the Tritons were stuffed on fourth-and-three at the 18. By then they trailed 29-0.

Mariner finally got on the board when Jeunegens hit Timothy Peters for a 29-yard score with six minutes left in the third. Peters made a circus catch at his knees for the TD.
