In addition to the Fort Myers Miracle’s nomination by the Florida State League for the Larry MacPhail Promotional Trophy, general manager Andrew Seymour was just named the league’s Executive of the Year.

“I am so proud of Andrew for winning the FSL Executive of the Year and the Miracle staff for winning the MacPhail nomination,” said owner/president Jason Hochberg of SJS Beacon Baseball. “Even though 2014 was an excellent year for promotions, I know that our 2015 season will be even better.”

The Larry MacPhail Award is bestowed to the team that demonstrates outstanding, creative marketing and promotional efforts within the community, the ballpark and through the media.

One overall winner will be selected prior to this year’s annual Baseball Winter Meetings in San Diego, for all of Minor League Baseball’s 15 leagues. The nominees were selected by league directors and general managers.

“These awards are the product of hard, teamwork from a championship staff,” said Seymour.

During the season, the Miracle unveiled a new outfield boardwalk at Hammond Stadium that allowed fans to enjoy each game from multiple angles. The boardwalk is the first of a two-phase renovation to the stadium and CenturyLink Sports Complex.

Phase II began in August and with help from the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox and Lee County, the Miracle moved to JetBlue Park for the final eight home dates plus playoffs en route to winning the franchise’s first Florida State League Championship since relocating to Fort Myers.

Known for zany promotions, the Miracle did not disappoint fans in Southwest Florida this season with three used car giveaways. One popular evening was Zombie Night in honor of the Day of the Dead movie being filmed in Fort Myers 30 years ago.
