Baker girls sweep Gateway 3-0

Ida Baker cruised to a 25-9, 25-13, 25-12 victory Thursday night over Gateway Charter behind a trio of offensive players.

Kristina Kayatta led the Bulldogs with eight kills, five digs and three service aces. Ashley Vargas added seven kills, four blocks and 14 digs while Lindsey Rounsifer handed out 14 assists to go with five digs.

The Bulldogs (11-7) host Fort Myers on Monday.

Bishop Verot 3, LaBelle 0: Bishop Verot sprinted past LaBelle Thursday night behind Taya Leonard’s double-double performance of 13 kills and 11 assists.

Allie Gerlach contributed 17 assists in the 25-11, 25-16, 25-20 victory for the Vikings (16-2), who participate in a tri-match Saturday at Cypress Lake.

Oasis 3, Dunbar 0: Danielle Bebber led Oasis to a straight-set victory Thursday night over Dunbar with a game-high eight kills and four service aces.

Larra Bickelhaupt contributed eight kills and three aces toward the Sharks’ 25-8, 25-5, 25-15 victory. Kelsie Arentsen added three kills and three aces.

The Sharks (15-7) visit Cape Coral on Monday.

Cypress Lake 3, Mariner 2: Overcoming a two-game deficit, Cypress Lake rallied for a comeback win over Mariner Thursday night 22-25, 16-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-8.

Jasmine O’Neil led the Tritons with four kills, four digs and 134 service points while Aailiyah Hunter contributed five kills and 10 service points. Kaitlyn Adams had one block and three assists for the Tritons, who host Riverdale on Tuesday.

Bowling

At Coral Lanes: Cape Coral and North Fort Myers split Thursday’s match with Cape’s boys prevailing 3-2 and the North girls prevailing 5-0.

Alyx Parkinson rolled a high game of 179 to lead the Seahawk boys to a total pinfall of 919. Mia Raymond’s high game of 181 paced the girls to a total pinfall of 620.

Cape’s boys (8-1) and girls (6-3) host Riverdale Tuesday at Coral Lanes.
