Baker places 8th at Crutchfield

2 min read

Ida Baker took on a field of 20 teams in Sebring Monday at the Turtle Run Golf Club and came away with an eighth-place finish in the annual Hawkins-Crutchfield Tournament.

Led by Ross Lally’s 3-over-par round of 75, the Bulldogs cobbled together a team score of 322 to finish 14 strokes behind The King’s Academy and Archbishop McCarthy, both with 308. King’s Academy won the title in a one-hole playoff.

Estero placed just ahead of Baker at 320 and Mariner finished down the list at 354.

“I’m pleased even though we left a few shots out on the course,” said Bulldogs coach Scott Conforte. “I would have liked to crack 320, but eight out of 20 is pretty good. I think we are coming together as a team at the right time with LCEC next week and then districts.”

Alex DiLallo backed Lally’s scorecard with a round of 80. Adrian Strey shot 83 and Gage Wilson 84.
