District champs
Cape Coral’s 9-year-old Strong All-Star softball team captured the District 9 championship last week by sweeping Fort Myers American 2-0 in the best-of-three tournament series. Cape Coral outscored Fort Myers 16-2 and 16-8 to claim the title. Team players include Dyanis Jiminez, Ashly Lopez, Marena Low, Madison Slaughter, Cheyenne Waddel, Laila Jones, Montana Serrano, Meranda Bretzig, Ayden Dwenger, Celsey Archer, Alexis Fundora & Brielle Mitchell. They are managed by Darin Trawick with coaches Brett Low and Javier Diaz.
