FGCU hires Enfield
FGCU athletics director Ken Kavanagh announced the hiring of Florida State assistant coach Andy Enfield as the Eagles’ new men’s basketball coach Wednesday.
Enfield, who helped lead FSU to the last three NCAA Tournaments including the Sweet 16 last week, takes over the Eagles’ program for its 10th season.
Recruiting and player development were among Enfield’s chief responsibilities at FSU where the current roster lists 11 top 100 recruits.
Enfield played at Johns Hopkins and was an NBA assistant with the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks. Enfield joined FSU’s staff in 2006.
