Prep Report: I-Coast flattens ECS 13-1
Junior Randy Petito drove in four runs with a pair of singles and senior Taylor Renegar drove in a pair of runs with three base hits, including a triple, as Island Coast routed Evangelical Christian 13-1 Friday in the final round of the Cape Coral Early Bird Tournament at Terry Park.
Pablo Matos (2-0) pitched four innings, striking out five, to pick up the win.
Chase Vogelbach, Kameron Gellinger and Jordan Moody each contributed two hits toward the Gators’ 13-hit total.
A six-run uprising in the seventh inning nearly doubled the lead the Gators built over the first six innings.
The Sentinels went scoreless until pushing across a run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Gators (3-0) visit Bishop Verot on Tuesday.

Riverdale 9, Ida Baker 5: Riverdale scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 5-5 tie and hand Baker its second defeat in the Early Bird Tournament.
The Bulldogs (1-2) play at Cypress Lake Tuesday.
Estero 12, North Fort Myers 1: Estero sprayed 13 base hits and scored nine runs in the last two innings to rout North Fort Myers in the final round of the Early Bird Tournament.
Jorge Perera’s two-out single in the sixth inning drove in Casey Perkowski (2-for-3), who had doubled, with North’s only run.
The Red Knights (0-3) hosts Cape Coral on Tuesday.

Braddock 6, Mariner 5: Sergio Leon belted a 2-1 pitch from Justin Gubelman over the fence for a walkoff home run in the eighth inning as Braddock handed Mariner its first defeat of the season at Key West.
Walter Cleary and Alex Santana each contributed two hits and one RBI for the Tritons, who opened a 3-0 lead.
A five-run uprising was launched by Braddock, courtesy of a three-run double by Leon, a couple of other hits, a walk and a wild pitch. Starting Tritons pitcher Jason Carmichael was lifted during the rally. Charlie Klein pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings.
The Tritons chipped away and tied the game with a run in the seventh inning to send it into an extra inning.
Gubelman (0-1) relieved Klein to face Leon in the eighth, and was greeted by the game-winning homer.
The Tritons (1-1) face Miami Southridge at noon Saturday in the final round of the Key West invitational.

Softball
Mariner 13, ECS 3: Abby Willis went 3-for-5 driving in three runs and McKenzie Hunt pitched a four-hitter to sent Mariner to victory at Evangelical Christian.
Hunt struck out seven hitters in recording her first mound victory of the season. Sam Greenwell (2-for-3) doubled among the Tritons’ 10 total hits.
The Tritons (3-2) host Estero on Tuesday.
