Goaltender Jaroslav Janus was reassigned to the Florida Everblades Monday, returning to the team from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League where he has been since a call-up on Jan. 18.

During his most recent stint in Norfolk, Janus, 21, made his first AHL appearance, earning a tie in a 7-6 overtime loss to the Charlotte Checkers on Feb. 3.

With the Everblades this season, Janus has played in 20 games, posting an 8-10-0 record with a 2.98 goals-against average.

A sixth-round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2009, Janus began last season with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League where he posted a record of 7-4-2 with a 2.81 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage over 13 games.

The Everblades also announced that goaltender Shane Owen, 20, has been released from his amateur tryout contract. He made his professional debut with the Everblades at Toledo on Jan. 30.

The Everblades return to action Wednesday in Cincinnati when they take on the Cyclones in the first of three games over four days. The Blades return to Germain Arena on Feb. 18 when they host the Gwinnett Gladiators.
