Wrestlers take second, fourth at state meet
Brady Logan of North Fort Myers High placed second in the 112-pound division Saturday at the Florida Wrestling Championships in Lakeland.
Logan won three preliminary decisions before losing to Brandon Jorge 11-3 in the championship final. Ida Baker’s Brandon Gacad was knocked out in the second round of the bracket by Jorge.
Mariner’s Brett Hurt in the 135-pound division and Ida Baker’s Bobby Nuccio in the 145-pound divison both lost first-round decisions. Mariner’s Basil Minto lost in the third round of the 160-pound division, losing to eventual champion Frank Cousins, and went on to place fourth in the consolation match.
