Prep Report: Mariner girls win opener
The Mariner Tritons deposited one goal after another in their season-opening girls’ soccer match at East Lee County Monday Night.
They built a commanding 15-1 lead, forcing the game to be halted after one half of play.
Junior Kelsea Whitaker sparked the offensive attack with four goals. Sophomore Nicole Romano added a hat trick (three goals), and Alex Muro-Solis scored two goals.
Amanda Seny, Emily Diroma, Ashley Chitwood, Rebecca Smith, Kaitlyn Souza and Keely Dunlap scored the other six goals.
Mariner (1-0) plays at South Fort Myers Thursday night in their second match of the season.
