Blades sign defenseman
The Florida Everblades signed defenseman Cleve Kinley Tuesday for the upcoming season, making him the 15th player under contract for 2009-10. Kinley, 25, played for Blades coach Malcolm Cameron in his rookie season (2007-08) in Texas.
That year, he set professional career highs in games played (60), goals (6), assists (28) and points (34) and averaged more than a point a game in the ’08 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
Kinley spent last season with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, scoring four goals and adding 24 assists for 28 points.
He will attend training camp with the Everblades’ AHL affiliate Rochester Americans later this month.
