Miracle drop third in a row
JUPITER – The Jupiter Hammerheads rode a seven-run fifth inning to a 10-1 victory over the Fort Myers Miracle in the first game of the final series of the regular season Friday night.
Tom Koehler (4-1) was terrific for the hosts in picking up his fourth victory in the Florida State League this season. The right-hander limited the Miracle to just one unearned run on seven hits, with one walk and six strikeouts.
Miracle Mike Tarsi (3-4) surrendered five earned runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. He walked one and struck out five. Matt Williams, who hadn’t worked in almost a week, gave up four earned in 1 2/3 and Blair Erickson allowed one run in two innings.
The teams play again Saturday.
