Thelen returns to Blades
A.J. Thelen has agreed to return to the Florida Everblades for the 2009-10 ECHL season, the team announced Tuesday.
Thelen, a defenseman, appeared in 34 games last season, scoring three goals and adding 14 assists. The first-round pick (12th overall) of the Minnesota Wild in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft also appeared in 10 Kelly Cup playoff games last season. He battled through injuries during the season, suffering a pair of concussions.
Thelen (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) also played for Everblades coach Malcolm Cameron in 2007-08 with the Texas Wildcatters.
