Miracle take 10-3 beating
The Palm Beach Cardinals bats were simply too much for the Fort Myers Miracle Wednesday night at Hammond Stadium as the Cardinals pounded the Miracle 10-3 to snap their five-game winning streak.
The five straight wins was one shy of the Miracle’s season high, but the Cardinals jumped out in front with six runs in the first three innings and put it out of reach late.
Tommy Pham was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a three-run homer for the Cardinals (19-24). He was hit by a pitch in the ninth inning and after several minutes, was helped off the field by two coaches. The ball appeared to hit him in the helmet.
Mike Tarsi (3-2) took the loss, allowing six runs (three earned) on nine hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out five.
Joe Testa gave up one run in 1 2/3 innings, while Henry Arias surrendered another in 1 1/3.
Cardinals starter David Kopp didn’t qualify for the win with four innings pitched. He gave up three earned runs on five hits, with three walks and four strikeouts.
Blake King (7-3) came on in relief and allowed no hits in three innings, walking one, and striking out another.
Deibinson Romero was the only Miracle batter with a multi-hit game as he finished 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Adron Chambers and Chris Swauger both were 3-for-5 for Palm beach, while Oliver Marmol went 2-for-5 at the bottom of the order.
The Miracle (25-20) remain one game in front of Charlotte in the FSL’s South Division standings as the Stone Crabs (24-21) also lost Wednesday night.
David Bromberg of the Miracle opposes Brian Broderick in Thursday’s series finale at 7:05 p.m. at Hammond Stadium.
