Prep teams begin official practice

1 min read

Being successful in high school sports, requires players to go above and beyond what is required in terms of the mandated number of games and practice dates. Weightlifting, offseason workouts and other methods of training have taken place in sports such as football, volleyball and swimming since, at least, the spring.

The action intensifies and teams become more organized Monday on the first official day of fall practice, as outlined by the FHSAA.

Football, volleyball, golf, and swimming and diving are the sports allowed to begin practicing Monday with regular season contests scheduled as early as Monday, Aug. 31.

Cross Country and bowling begin practice Aug. 17.
