Miracle notch 1-0 victory

1 min read

David Bromberg was terrific, working out of several jams, and catcher Jair Fernandez provided the only offense in a 1-0 shutout of the Brevard County Manatees Monday night at Hammond Stadium.

Bromberg (9-1) retired 10 straight batters at one point, but his most impressive work came in the fifth inning. A double and two infield bunt singles loaded the bases for the Manatees with no outs in a scoreless game. Bromberg struck out Eric Farris, induced a popout to short, and struck out Steffan Wilson to leave the bases loaded with no runs allowed.

In the bottom of that inning, Fernandez hit a line drive home run to left field, his third of the season, off Amaury Rivas (8-6).

The Miracle (15-16) and Manatees (18-10) meet again Tuesday night at Hammond Stadium.
