YUNET JOMOLCA Ben Revere of the Fort Myers Miracle finishes a swing during Wednesday’s Florida State League game at Hammond Stadium. The Miracle lost the game and fell to 32-19 on the season. The Miracle dropped their third game in a row.

The Fort Myers Miracle hadn’t scored in 27 innings until Danny Berg’s infield single drove in Chris Cates in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday night at Hammond Stadium.

Clearwater’s Dominic Brown had already cracked a two-run homer in the first inning and it was enough for the Threshers to edge the Miracle 2-1.

The Miracle are on their longest losing streak of the season – three games. Starter Deolis Guerra (4-5) settled down after the home run and posted his third straight start of at least six innings.

The Venezuelan native went seven innings and allowed three hits, two earned runs and three walks. He struck out four but took the tough-luck defeat.

Carlos Monasterios (3-3) earned the win in five innings for the Threshers. He allowed two hits and struck out five. Three Thresher relievers combined to keep the Miracle (32-19) at bay, with Michael Schwimer recording his fifth save in the ninth.

Ben Revere had the only multi-hit game for the Miracle, finishing 2-for-4. Brown finished 1-for-4 for Clearwater, and had the two-run blast to right.

Glen Perkins takes the hill Thursday in his first of two scheduled rehab starts with Fort Myers.

Left-hander Yohan Flande starts for the Threshers.

First pitch is 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Hammond Stadium.
