JUPITER – The Fort Myers Miracle split Tuesday’s doubleheader with the Jupiter Hammer-heads winning game one 5-1 before being shut out for the first time this season, 7-0, in the second.

The Miracle finish their road trip 4-2.

Both games were precipitation-free. Mere minutes after the final out, heavy rain started falling from the sky.

David Bromberg (3-0) just missed a shutout in game one, tossing 6 2/3 innings with four hits, one run, three walks, and three strikeouts. Alex Burnett needed just one pitch to record the final out in relief.

Chris Parmelee was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Evan Bigley was 2-for-3 with one run. Danny Berg had a two-out RBI double.

The momentum didn’t carry into the nightcap. Steve Hirschfeld (1-1) threw three innings with two hits and one unearned run scored on a passed ball. Hirschfeld struck out four, but took the loss.

Henry Arias struggled in the fourth, allowing six earned runs, all with two outs. Brandon Tripp belted a three-run homer, before Mike Stanton drove in two on a single.

The Miracle (24-13) return to Hammond Stadium Wednesday night to host the St. Lucie Mets.
