VANDY MAJOR Fort Myers Miracle players line the dugout rail as they wait out a lengthy rain delay before the start of their game with the Sarasota Reds Wednesday night at Hammond Stadium. The Miracle (20-11) are back in action Thursday on the road at the St. Lucie Mets.

VANDY MAJOR Grounds crew and volunteers remove the tarp from the Hammond Stadium field after waiting for more than an hour for rainshowers to stop. The tarp went back on the field after just a few batters in the first inning with more rain. The game was cancelled, and will not be made up, since the Miracle and Reds are not scheduled to face each other again in the Florida State League’s first-half.

VANDY MAJOR A brave fan of the Fort Myers Miracle amuses the crowd by “bodysurfing” on top of the wet field tarp Wednesday night at Hammond Stadium. Rainsoaked fans in the stands called him “safe” when he got to to home plate. The Miracle game with the Sarasota Reds eventually was called off due to the rain.
