Each of the 56 participants in the Cape Coral Special Olympics Bocce Invitational Classic came away with ribbons and awards. The event Friday and Saturday at the Veterans Park Bocce Courts attracted athletes from Lee, Charlotte, Flagler, Sarasota and Palm Beach counties. More than 160 people, including participants, family and the 25 volunteers from the Cape Coral Bocce Association, took part in the event. Food was catered and served by chef/owner Dario Zuljani and his staff from Ariani’s Restaurant. Organizers anticipate 10 counties participating in a three- or four-day classic next year.
