Miracle goes down 5-1

The Fort Myers Miracle dropped their second straight game to the Jupiter Hammerheads after struggling on offense in a 5-1 loss Sunday.

The Miracle (10-6) stranded 10 runners. The Miracle didn’t score their only run until the top of the ninth.

Deolis Guerra (2-1) suffered his first loss of the season in a six-inning effort. He allowed six hits, two walks, and struck out three.

Designated hitter Joe Mauer was 2-for-4, both singles, and Estarlin de los Santos and Chris Cates each collected two hits.

The Palm Beach Cardinals host the Miracle in a three-game series, beginning Monday.
