Cape High grad signs with Chiefs
Former Cape High and University of South Florida wide receiver Taurus Johnson has agreed to a free-agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Scout.com.
Johnson was not among the 256 players selected during Saturday and Sunday’s NFL Draft but figured to be on the radar of several NFL teams as an undrafted free agent.
The 6-foot-1, 204-pound Johnson graduated from Cape in 2005 after a stellar playing career with the Seahawks. He set the school record for receptions (71) and receiving yards (1,128), and recorded a then school record 99-yard touchdown.
In his career at USF, Johnson finished second on the career list in touchdowns (12) and third in receiving yards (1,434) and receptions (112).
